Alta received half a foot of snow from this storm, bringing our season total to within 15 inches of 900. We weren’t able to get up early in the morning and figured the snow would be tracked out. So a new plan materialized. Leo, 6 years old, would get his first shot at the High Traverse and High Boy!
There was actually a bit of ice and the occasional ice chunk on the traverse. But it was mostly empty of other skiers. This made it possible to navigate a safe path for Leo. He handled it quite well.
High Boy was bumpy and icy, for a rookie 6 year old, but we decided to do it anyway. Leo definitely had his fair share of crashes but he made his way down with just a little bit of help from Dad. Great accomplishment little dude!
