Alta Ski Area received a storm total of a whopping 6 inches. In some places it definitely felt like 8. The snow came in creamy with some graupel mixed which helped a ton in covering up most of the leftover hard layers. Where the previous snow was smooth the skiing today was actually quite phenomenal.
Backside opened early and was fast and ripping from top to bottom if you could avoid some chundery blocks of ice scattered in the middle section. Thirds was smooth and anything off the front side from West Rustler to Jitterbug stayed relatively untracked into the afternoon. High Boy and Regal Chute were fun. All in all today was ripping good for the meager amount of snow that was recorded.
