Alta Ski Patrol pleasantly surprised me this afternoon. Expecting to tool around on icy groomers all afternoon I was super stoked to see skiers blasting down the freshly opened Main Chute. Arriving at 2:00 in the afternoon didn’t exactly help my position in line but the leftover bumped up snow was still skiing great. Coverage is for the most part good to go only nicking a couple of small rocks on my way down.
Not only did Main Chute open today but the Devil’s Castle Apron did as well. I wasn’t able to spin a lap over there but from the glimpses I caught while on Sugarloaf it looks to be skiing smooth and fast. Tomorrow looks to be another sunny day so I have to imagine both areas will reopen in the morning. Enjoy!
