If you’ve ever wanted to feel the rush of racing through gates like the Olympians then look no further and come to Alta. Each Friday and Saturday Alta hosts recreational racing, conditions permitting.
The course is off the top of Sunnyside Lift from 11:00am to 3:00pm each Friday and Saturday beginning today January 13. It is open to anyone who would like to participate and awards are given to all participants.
Each participant will receive an Alta pin. Gold, Silver and Bronze pins are awarded based on a handicap system according to age and gender and is determined per a pace setter’s time. If you don’t receive a Gold, Silver or Bronze, you’ll be awarded a white Alta pin. Results and pins can be picked up at Peak Photo after 4:00pm on day of race.
A single run cost $3 and unlimited runs cost $10. Go to Alta’s calendar for all race dates throughout the season. Registration can be done at any ticket office or at the top of the race course. Upon registration all participants can inspect the course before their race time.
Come out to Alta on Friday and Saturdays and feel like an Olympian racing through the gates and at the same time you’ll be improving your skiing technique and abilities.
