Alta’s back! With over two feet of fresh in the last 48 hours, you couldn’t ask for better conditions at Alta right now. After a pretty dismal start to winter in the Wasatch, today went a long way toward erasing those low-tide memories.
Alta Ski Patrol was on it this morning, getting the High Traverse, Baldy Shoulder, and Catherine’s Area open before noon, giving skiers plenty of options to hunt down their powder fix. The snow was light and fluffy on top with a supportive layer of cream underneath, perfect for pointing it when you wanted and scrubbing speed without getting punished when things got spicy.
The forecast is looking promising too, with another storm lining up tomorrow night into Thursday morning. Keep those snow dances going.
