This year’s Wasatch Wildflower Festival takes place next weekend (July 26-28) at four different mountain locations – Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, and Solitude. What started years ago as an excuse for a few Alta locals to throw a block party during the summer flower season has now turned into a full blown festival across two Wasatch canyons. According to the festival’s website:
The Festival’s goal and mission is to provide a fun and encouraging environment for people to learn about the wide diversity of wildflowers that are found in the Wasatch Mountains and to not only celebrate the wildflowers, but show people how to take care of them.
Alta’s Day is Saturday July 27th and hikes for beginners, intermediates, and advanced hikers begin at 9:00 am. Kid’s hikes start at 9:30 am. Live acoustic music by Lerraine and the Soul Vibrations will run from 8:30 am-12:30pm. For a full list of events at each resort be sure to check the festivals website.
