I got my Christmas wish this holiday weekend as the last of Alta’s lifts finally opened. Supreme bowl is still not open for obvious reasons, but access to Rocky Point via the Catherine’s traverse is. The skiing in Rocky is as good as it gets at Alta right now with an abundance of creamy untracked lines. Make sure not to forget your backcountry gear though as this is an out of bounds area. Not only can you now access Rocky Point but I also noticed a booter going up Patsy Marley with a few tracks coming down the main gut. It looked really rocky so I wouldn’t recommend hiking into that area just yet. The video below was filmed in Rocky Point just skiers right of A-Frame where the upper chute was a bit crusty but the lower apron was milky smooth. Looks like a couple of disappointing brush-by storms Wednesday and Thursday but I’ll take what I can get at this point.

I bet the A-Frame is huge right now. I didn’t go out to rocky point but did take a couple laps on supreme, and the diving board under the supreme lift is the biggest I’ve ever seen it.
whoa! rock.
Jack Straw, check out my pic of rocky point. A-Frame is very big right now as you could assume. Looking down from the top of it it looks like a giant rock with no snow on it. Definitely no take off let alone enough snow to land in.
