Most of the terrain at Alta that had opened yesterday was tracked and full of moguls, still soft but definitely bumpy. Then the lower Backside gate opened and skiers found great tracks to be had from Yellow Trail down to Susie’s Trees.
We chose to spend our afternoon in the side country with some Rocky Point and Patsey Marley laps. The snow was phenomenal, and the rocks almost completely covered. Patsey had great coverage skier’s right of the gut, and what appeared to be deep snow throughout the entire area. Not many skiers were up there as of 3pm but most aspects had been skied by that time.
