The fresh snow that fell over the past 48 hours was not your typical light and fluffy Utah powder but, thick and manky snow is still better than no snow. The skiing up high was actually really good as coverage is starting to get a little more dependable and the snow less crusty. Alta Ski Patrol even opened the East Baldy gate. Not exactly a lot of skiing to be had but the 5-8 turns before you hit the EBT made it worth the short hike. Is this any indication of things to come? Baldy chutes maybe? Let’s hope so.
