Alta’s New Year’s Eve Torchlight Parade has grown significantly over the years and for good reason, it’s a blast! This year Alta will be hosting another great event and will be asking participants to donate a minimum of $5 to raise money for the Utah Food Bank. According to Alta,
we now stage a more free-flowing event with no formal start time. Hopefully this minimizes the cold waiting time once skiers get off the lift and allows families to participate and to be at the base to watch fireworks and enjoy time by the fire.
Participants can begin loading the Collins lift at 5:15 pm and will ski down from the angle station to the Wildcat base. Adults will be given a torch but children will need to carry their own headlamp or flashlight as well as be accompanied by an adult. No open containers will be allowed on the lift and skiers should be at least an intermediate level. Come celebrate the end of 2013 and ring in the beginning of another great season at Alta!
