We didn’t have high hopes for opening day. We were excited the ski season was kicking off but the amount of terrain projected to open was minimal. However we got more than we bargained for! The Tower 10 traverse was open and so was Wildcat all the way to Westward Ho.

When we pulled in at 9:20am we were delighted to see only a third of the parking lot occupied. The lift line was still only moderately full. The first chair was a dad and three daughters/friends. They staked their claim at 615am this morning. Way to get after it girls.

The snow on Lone Pine for our first run was actually quite good. Everything off the Tower 10 was. We skied a lap on the lower Shoulder that was kinda wind buffed which was fun. The snow starting setting up towards the afternoon as temperatures neared 50. With more snow on the way it’s officially winter!
