We’re one week away from Alta Ski Area’s opening day and conditions are shaping up nicely. With uphill traffic closing today at 4 pm skiers and snowboarders were anxious to carve some turns before Alta starts it’s final preparations for opening day.
With a meager 4″ storm total on top of the foot + we received two weeks ago I expected there to be way more rocks than snow. Luckily my turns were made in all the right places and I only ended up skimming over a few rocky spots. Obviously they ‘re out there but if you stick to the grassy areas your skis should live to see another day.
Forecasts are calling for another 5-9″ tonight with high pressure setting in on Sunday. If you’re looking for more details on Alta’s opening day be sure to check out their newsletter here. See you all next week!

Getting stoked! One more week and we’ll be riding lifts again. Hopefully this weekends storm adds to the base. Looks pretty meager thus far in the edit.
Oh Yeah!!
Great first edit of the year, Nate! Crank up the moisture,
