NateIt was cold and beautiful at Alta today. Visibility was perfect, the snow-guns were blowing, and the snow was soft. Baldy Shoulder opened with access either from the Wildcat via boot-pack or Main Street to a long sidestep. You could avoid a lot of the sidestep and ski early right past the gate. However, the turns up high were definitely worth at least one trip to the top. We still found some rocks, and stumps, but things are really starting to fill in.
Also of note, the rest of the Wildcat terrain out to Westward Ho is now open and probably has been for a day or two. Long range forecast doesn’t look great so might as well get up there while the getting is still good!
