Conditions at Alta are getting a bit variable. There’s some serious crust out there depending on the sun and if the snow’s been tracked. But where it lacks in powder Alta’s making up for in new open terrain thanks to the amazing work of the Alta Ski Patrol.
Everything between East Castle and Devil’s Castle is open and very steep looking. Also the upper terrain above the early part of the traverse into Devil’s including the chute is open.
The best snow we found today was on upper Perla’s. The snow got chalkier the further down you went. The groomers were very fast and grippy too, unfortunately we didn’t get any shots on the groomers Nate would never allow it.
