We’ve had some moist spring storms rolling in the past few days at Alta. About 10 inches of cream fell overnight. Alta Ski Patrol were fully on top of things this morning as everything except the Castle opened up right away. Skiers were able to spread out right off the bat which helped to preserve the smoothness of the cream.
We started off with a ripping line down the center punch of Backside. Then we hit Thirds and Eagle’s Nest where the visibility was holding strong. The weather was in and out this morning. One moment you could see clearly the next it was dumping graupel. Around 1130 Keyhole opened and it was creamy and a bit deeper. West Rustler was absolutely ripping too and we were lucky to catch a run in blue sunshine.
It was a classic powder day at Alta and tomorrow has the potential to be even better as a colder storm approaches tonight!
