Today’s conditions were hopeful at first after seeing the somewhat steady snowfall. Unfortunately the wind and holiday crowds have taken their toll. Every other soft turn was quickly followed by a hard-pack bump making rhythmic turning almost impossible.
Groomers were still fun and grippy and the occasional off-piste face-shot made for some happy thoughts but after skiing the chest deep pow from last week today was just not measuring up. Untracked snow still seems to be skiing great but unless you’re leaving the resort boundaries it’s going to be hard to find. High pressure is setting in for the next 7 days so get those groomer boards ready.
