Fresh Powder at Alta

Alta welcomed 9″ of fresh pow overnight and with skies clearing this morning you couldn’t ask for a prettier day. Patrol opened every gate besides the chutes and Devil’s Castle by first chair, really helping to spread out the powder hungry crowd.  The skiing off of High Eddie’s, Baldy Shoulder, Jitterbug, and everything down the front side was great. There was a noticeable hard layer underneath but as the snow got pushed around more the icy base became less and less of an issue. According to friends up canyon lake effect snow squalls moved in around 5pm so hopefully it keeps churning all night!
