Salomon designed the Czar for those of us who live to ski powder but want one fat ski that is versatile enough to plow through the crud or carve the groomers when the pow fades away. It has a fat waist, a rockered tip and a traditional sidecut underfoot. The rockered tip, which starts 20 cms below the tip, provides excellent float, but not so much that you can’t still get faceshots. New for this season, the Salomon Czar comes in a 190cm length. It is also available in 166cm, 174cm and 182cm. The dimensions of the 182 are 131 / 111 / 121mm. Salomon used a wood core to give the Czar longevity and consistent flex. Word on the street is that you should mount these skis on the forward line for the best performance and that’s what we did. The Czar butters like you’ve always dreamed a ski should and it will help you rule the mountain like a Russian oligarch no matter what the conditions are.
